Business Council of Westchester - Rising Stars 2018 List

The Business Council of Westchester, the county’s leading business membership organization, today announced its 2018 class of Rising Stars, a diverse and highly talented group representing an impressive array of professions.
The winners will be honored on June 21 during an evening reception at 800 Westchester Avenue in Rye Brook. The Rising Stars program is modeled after the national business recognition program “40 under 40.” Rising Stars honorees were chosen based on professional and/or entrepreneurial accomplishments, professional and/or business affiliations, and demonstrated leadership skills.
“Each year I am impressed with the quality and diversity of candidates, and this year is no exception,’’ said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester. “I congratulate the winners who represent a new generation of up and coming professionals in Westchester.’’

The Westchester Watch List - Movers and Shakers 2018

According to the City and State Magazine, we take a closer look at the movers and shakers of Westchester County. Since we cover politicians on a day-to-day basis, we limited this list to those who are not strictly in government but instead influence it from the outside.
We partnered on this project with Suzanne Colucci, an award-winning television journalist based in Westchester. We reached out to insiders and experts to compile this list, ranking each person based on their accomplishments, their sway in political and policy matters, their economic clout, their philanthropic efforts, their ties to powerful politicians and the constituencies they represent.
It’s worth noting that the people on it are predominantly white and male, which simply reflects our best attempt at identifying the power structure as it is. We sought to balance that by presenting an additional – and more diverse – list of younger figures on the rise.
These 10 people who live or work in Westchester County have begun to make their mark on New York’s political world – and each of them is worth watching in the years ahead.
